I’m so excited to announce I’ve signed a new deal for an upcoming romantic suspense series with Harlequin Intrigue!
You can read about how I achieved this decade-long goal over here in my June newsletter, but for today I’m giving you a little sneak peak into the first book in my brand new Blackhawk Security series, Rules in Blackmail.
Someone is watching her. Not just watching. Stalking.
As an Army JAG Corps prosecutor, Jane Reise knows how to defend herself, but when she discovers a photo of her asleep on her cell phone, she needs the best help possible. Her solution: the irresistible ex-Navy SEAL, Sullivan Bishop. The problem: she court-martialed Sullivan’s brother and he’s holding onto his grudge. But Jane knows his darkest secret, something he’d do anything to prevent becoming public, and his refusal to help means she’ll have to play dirty.
Sullivan Bishop has worked his entire life to protect those who can’t and, as the founder of Blackhawk Security, he’s done a damn fine job. But when the prosecutor in his brother’s case breaks into his office after hours, his entire world is upended. Jane knows who he really is and what he’s been hiding and now he has no other choice but to give into blackmail. Only, as the bullets start flying, Sullivan discovers Jane isn’t as cold-hearted as her reputation lets on.
With her stalker closing in and the desire ramping up between them, both Jane and Sullivan put their lives—and their hearts—on the line.
I can’t tell you how excited I am to work with the editors in the Intrigue line and to see my book on shelves next to my favorite authors. Rules in Blackmail has definitely been a passion project of mine and a glimpse as to where I see my career headed in the future. It’s a high-octane read that never lets up with high-stakes romance mixed in.
There are six total books planned for the Blackhawk Security series, each focused on a member of the team and the impossible cases–and clients–they take on. As of right now, I’ve contracted only the first book in the series since I’m having a baby in the next two months, but after that, I’ll be handing in a proposal for the rest of the series.
As of right now, I’m on deadline to turn in the first round of revisions and I’ll keep you updated when I have more details!
***Updates as of August 1, 2017***
Now that I’ve turned in my revisions for Rules in Blackmail, I’ve started focusing on contracting the rest of the series. I’ve had this series planned out for about three years now and I can’t wait for you to see what I have in store.
I’m currently drafting the next book in the series, Rules in Recovery (tentative title). This book focuses on Anthony Harris, Blackhawk Security’s weapons expert, and the one woman in his life who got away. Glennon’s partner is missing and she needs Anthony’s help to recover him to bring down a criminal organization, but teaming up with her ex-fiancee is more dangerous than she expected. The book is about 50% drafted at the moment and definitely keeping me on my toes!
Along with this draft, I’m prepping the proposal for the next four books in the series (including Rules in Recovery). With my second baby coming at the end of the month, I’m hoping to get this submitted before Demon Spawn #2 gets here.
***Updates as of May 21, 2018***
