For the business ladies in my life, I’m going to let you in on a little secret. I schedule all of my social media ahead of time. Like an entire month ahead of time. First, because I LOVE batch working, and second because my main job as a romantic suspense author is…you guessed it, writing romantic suspense. But I’m also only one person on a business budget, so I can’t hire a social media manager right now, and that means I’m 100% in charge of finding and engaging with readers!
For about a year now, I’ve used a different scheduler than the one I’m going to talk about today, but I was having so many problems with glitches, uploading bulk posts, and having the posts automatically post when they were supposed to. Every day I’d have to manually go into the app, copy my caption, and post it on Facebook and Instagram, and it was taking up so much of my time. Oh, and I’d paid for a year’s membership. Nope, I’m not going to tell you which one, but if you go back through my Insta feed, I’m sure you could find it on your own.
Back on topic. When I’d heard Jenna Kutcher of the Goaldigger Podcast uses Tailwind, I decided to at least do a bit of research to see if this was something that could work better for me, and within minutes, you guys, I knew I’d found the perfect social media manager for my business.
Here’s why I made the switch to Tailwind:
Smart Scheduler feature
Let me preface this and be real for a second. I’ve only been scheduling and posting to Instagram once a day for the past year, which didn’t get me a whole lot of followers, engagement, or sales. When I made the switch to Tailwind, I decided to ramp up all my social media tactics, which now includes posting 2-3 times a day to Instagram and Facebook as well as posting 4-5 stories a day. I have seen growth and new levels of engagement, but a big part of that is knowing WHEN to post.
Okay, back to our regularly scheduled program.
You’ve heard there’s algorithms and optimal times to post, but you’re not sure when your followers are most engaged during the day, and it’s all getting a bit overwhelming. Well, Tailwind fixes that for you. With the Smart Schedule feature, you tell Tailwind how many times you want to post every day and it’ll come back with the perfect times to get the most engagement from your posts.
Overall, this has put a lot more work on my already busy workload (having to create more posts), but I’m seeing more growth now than I have over the past year, just by utilizing this tool.
Facebook/Instagram/Pinterest all in one place
So the old program I was using only scheduled for Instagram. I’d then have to share my posts over to Facebook every day, and like I said above, sometimes that old scheduler would post automatically, but most of the time it didn’t, which took more time out of my day.
But with Tailwind, I’m able to schedule my Instagram posts, Facebook, AND Pinterest all in the same draft. All I have to do is click the tiny little box at the bottom of my draft and the post is automatically published on the time and date I set it to. This saves me a ton of time, takes out the need for me to hire a social media manager, and I’m able to edit the Facebook posts how I want them to post if different from my Instagram captions.
I’ve been using Tailwind for a little over a month now, and I’m here to tell you I will never go back to another scheduler. I’m so impressed (even with the free version), I paid for the full version of the Instagram profile. I haven’t had to manually post anything, scheduling everything is super easy, and every single one of my posts have gotten more engagement than ever before with help from the Smart Scheduler.
There are a few more features and tools I haven’t covered here because I really haven’t needed them (the Smart Loop feature, for example), but hey, you can check it out yourself and decide what works for you!
